* Is magSend just a preflight service?

No. magSend is a complete online prepress service that not only preflights files but prepares a print-ready PDF/X-1a required by the publisher. Our experience shows that most advertisers save time and money by finishing ads in under 20 minutes.
* Can I use magSend to deliver a print- ready digital ad to any magazine?
Yes. magSend can deliver digital ad files to any magazine worldwide. By accessing our data base, you will find that we are storing the digital ad specifications for over 500 magazines. You never have to worry about researching and meeting publisher specs; we do it for you. If you don’t see the magazine you need, let us know and we’ll add it for you.
* How much does it cost?
The cost of processing and delivering a print-ready digital ad file is just $30 and can be conveniently charged to your credit card. You may send your file as many times as you wish, without charge, until you are happy with your ad. We do not charge for the ad until you have actually approved your soft proof.
* If I send my ad to magSend via the Internet, do I also need to send a disk?
No. If you send and approve your ad over the internet you do not have to send a disk. Use of magSend saves time and eliminates the cost of courier charges.
* Is there help available if I need it?
Yes. There is free phone support available from 5 AM to 11 PM Eastern Time Monday-Friday at 888 256 4440. You may also email us at clientServices@magSend.com.
* Does the publisher receive my file as soon as I upload it to magSend?
No. The publisher receives the ad only after you approve your soft proof on your desktop. At that time, magSend prepares and ships any hard proofs that have been ordered and makes the hi res print-ready file available to the publisher.
* How does the magSend site differ from an FTP site?
FTP is just a place to drop files that have been transmitted over the Internet. magSend is a complete prepress workflow that helps you prepare a print-ready digital ad file that will meet all of the publisher’s requirements. Once you have finished your ad, we will take care of the delivery to the magazine.

* Can I order hard proofs?

Yes. In addition to the PDF soft proof you receive on your desktop, you may order hard proofs to be sent to you and/or to the publisher. We will prepare either SWOP 3 or SWOP 5 certified GMG Halftone Dot proofs or GMG Contone proofs, as well as color laser proofs. All proofs will be shipped same-day as long as ads are approved by 3 PM EST.

* How do I know that my ad can be matched on press?

All files prepared by magSend are color managed to conform to print industry standards specified by the ICC (International Color Consortium) and by SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications).
